Our work is about reducing re-offending, tackling deprivation and making communities safer. In all that we do, we make best use of limited resources to bring lasting value to individuals and society.

There are no excuses, but there are many reasons why people get involved in crime.

Often our service users have been both the victims and perpetrators of crime. Their needs are both complex and varied, so we try to make sure that we give each individual the service which is best for them.

We work with people of all ages, including young people at risk of offending. The first sentence can become a sentence for life. The prospect of a job can remove the temptation to turn to crime; the chance to work can halt the spiral of decline.

We are a vital partner, with public and voluntary sector agencies, in preventing crime. We recognise that all agencies need to work much more efficiently to maximise opportunities and have been pro-active in progressing this agenda. One example is our partnership with Sacro which recognises the potential for synergy and sharing our resources where we can.
Our programmes are tailored to meet the needs of each individual and consistently meet or exceed the targets set by our funders. Feedback from out referrers and funders suggests that 92% of them are satisfied or very satisfied with our services. Comments include:

“Apex has consistently achieved the targets set and provides excellent value for money”.

“Apex makes a significant contribution to changing the lives of the service users they work with”.
